Logo and brand guidelines

  • Use the official Rotary Mark of Excellence (the Rotary wheel) in all communications
  • Primary colour: Rotary Royal Blue (#17458F)
  • Secondary colour: Rotary Gold (#F7A81B)
  • Headings: Open Sans (ALL CAPS)
  • Body text: Georgia
  • Never alter, stretch, or recolour the Rotary logo
  • Create your club logo lockup using the Brand Centre templates

Social media best practice

  • Post regularly — aim for at least 2–3 posts per week
  • Use photos and video wherever possible — they get far more engagement than text alone
  • Tag @RotaryIreland on Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Instagram so we can amplify your stories
  • Use hashtags: #RotaryIreland #PeopleOfAction #CreateLastingImpact #EndPolioNow
  • Follow the Tone of Voice Guide — active verbs, real numbers, real stories

Photography tips

Good photos make everything better. Here are a few practical tips:

  • Take photos at every event — even informal ones
  • Get close: fill the frame with people and action
  • Ask permission before photographing, especially children
  • Landscape (horizontal) orientation works best for websites and social media headers
  • Portrait orientation is better for Instagram Stories and reels
  • Send your best photos to the Public Image team — we’ll share them on district channels

Training and support

The Public Image team offers three tiers of training for club Public Image Chairs:

  • Boot Camp — An introductory session covering brand basics, social media setup, and the Tone of Voice Guide.
  • Advanced Training — For clubs ready to step up: media relations, content planning, and measuring impact.
  • Monthly Drop-in Surgeries — Open sessions where club PIC chairs can ask questions, share challenges, and get practical help.
